Revd Canon Dr Carrie Applegath APSE (Senior Accredited), MBACP

Carrie Applegath is an experienced pastoral supervisor and counsellor providing individual pastoral supervision over the telephone and via Zoom. In addition to online and telephone work Carrie offers in-person individual pastoral supervision at her home in Perth.

Carrie holds a Diploma in Pastoral Supervision and is a senior accredited member of APSE, practicing within the APSE ethical framework.

Carrie is also a registered counsellor with BACP and practices within the BACP ethical framework. She holds a Doctorate in Psychotherapy and Counselling, and a Post-graduate Diploma in Counselling (Person-Centred and Psychodynamic).

In both her pastoral supervision and counselling practice Carrie offers a safe and boundaried space for supervisees to bring their work, and for counselling clients to talk about whatever is concerning them. Carrie recognises that trust is essential in the relationship between supervisee/client and supervisor/counsellor, and that it is important to allow time for both parties to decide if they feel able to work together.

Carrie is an Anglican priest in the Scottish Episcopal Church and married to an ordained person. She has worked for more than twenty years as a paediatric hospital chaplain and NHS spiritual care and bereavement service manager. She now works as a counsellor and pastoral supervisor in addition to her part-time ministry in a parish.
