Explore the potential of the healing ministry of the Christian faith to bring real healing and hope into the world today, and raise your confidence to be a healing presence whether you have a clear ministry, or you simply feel drawn to explore this way of understanding the Christian life.
This course is made up of four, two-hour workshops. The aim of the course is to raise confidence in the healing ministry by looking at the foundations of the ministry, examining good practice, looking at the modern world into which this ministry is offered and having space to reflect on personal experience and context
You will enjoy professionally filmed content, and a carefully designed and tested learning experience. You will also receive a pdf workbook which contains key materials and space for you to take notes and discern the ways in which you are being called by God to respond to the course. We can also promise you great content, and space to reflect in small groups about your own journey and the ways in which God is calling you to be a healing presence in the world today.
Outcomes:
In this course you will:
- learn about the history of the healing ministry in the Christian Church;
- explore the theological foundations of the healing ministry;
- discuss good practice in the healing ministry;
- reflect on the current healing ministry of your church and where God might be calling you to develop;
- explore how to pray for healing and how to tackle tricky questions;
- develop your sense of being an healing presence in the world today.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for anyone interested in the healing ministry, both lay and ordained. It is also ideal for those new to the ministry, healthcare professionals and those exploring ordination.
Attendance on this course will allow a church to apply for the Bronze Tier of the Healthy Healing Hub project.
Who runs it?
The course is delivered by one of the team from The Guild of Health and St Raphael – we have over 100 years of experience in supporting individuals and groups in their learning about the healing ministry. All sessions happen on Zoom. We will send out joining instructions shortly before the events

Cost
The cost is just £50 for individuals, or £150 for church groups (up to five people) for all four 2-hour workshops starting at 7pm.
If you want to come on this course as a small group from a church, then one ticket will cover up to five people from your church community. Attendance on the course will allow the church to apply for the Bronze tier of the Healthy Healing Hub project.
