Our Bible Month book for 2025 is… The Gospel of John!

John’s Gospel opens by presenting Jesus as the Word of God – the source of life and light for all people (John 1:1-18). In Jesus, we encounter God’s boundless, gracious love, which brings us into a relationship with him as his children. Through Jesus, the fullness of grace and truth is offered to everyone willing to receive it.

Join us for the adventure and discover for yourself the life-giving truths that this brilliant book ponders and imparts.

This day is specifically for those involved in leading Bible Month on the ground – Ministers, Local Preachers and Worship Leaders and those working with Children, Youth and Families – and will equip them to run Bible Month in their churches and circuits.

• Explore the text and some key features that will help you grapple with it
• Discover some of the resources on offer to help you as your prepare for worship
• Reflect on some of the key themes and stories of the Gospel of John and how you can lead churches into them.

We will be live streaming this event on YouTube and you can tune in from wherever you are across the Connexion.

1. Watch ONLINE at home

If you’re unable to gather with others from your church or circuit, you can still join in from home. A YouTube link will be sent direct to you in the build up to the event, and recordings will be available afterwards too.

2. Attend a local HUB

We’d strongly encourage you to gather with others from your local setting to engage with this training together. We will be working with a number of ‘Hubs’ from around the country to host you in person. Please contact your District or circuit to find out if there any hubs local to you. About Bible Month

Bible Month is an annual campaign that celebrates scripture by inviting the whole Methodist Connexion to feast on one particular book of the Bible together.*

Through a menu of carefully curated resources, training and learning opportunities, churches and circuits are encouraged to taste and see the goodness of an individual text; enjoying some of its unique flavours, considering its origins, appreciating its place alongside the rest of scripture, and savouring the unique contribution it might make to our faithful living and learning today.

*Typically, churches engage with Bible Month during June and many of the resources and training opportunities are timed accordingly. It is possible, however, for churches to choose a different month in the year in which to engage with the materials if that works better for their local calendars and needs.
