THE LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT is a series of differently sized reflections on issues which are not the usual stuff of Sunday sermons. All of the items originally featured either as Thought For The Day broadcasts, or are derived from recent zoomed or live seminars, many given at Greenbelt Festivals. The issues range from a reflection on the pandemic to the feminist Jesus, from what we tell children about God to how we respond to “the sin that dare not speak its name.” Bell claims that little of the content is self-generated, but rather comes from engagement with people and issues sometimes carefully avoided.
