Gillean is a parish minister in rural Aberdeenshire. In her 25 years in ministry she has served as a University Chaplain, as a member of a team ministry in an Ecumenical Parish, and in rural, island and city ministries. During this time she has supervised candidates and enquirers for a variety of different ministries mainly within the Church of Scotland.
A former nurse who worked in elderly and end of life care and in vulnerable childcare settings, she holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centered Counselling and offers counselling services to those in her local area. She is currently Pastoral Care Convenor in the Presbytery of Gordon and is a member of COSCA (Scotland’s Counselling regulator).
She is a passionate believer in supervision for all those involved in the care of others. She believes that it enhances their practise and offers a safe and supportive space for constructive reflection. Gillean holds a Certificate in Pastoral Supervision from the Institute of Pastoral Supervision and Reflective Practice.
