About the Event

Exploring the theology and strategic rationale behind being more family-focussed in our mission and church life.

About this event

Growing the Church and deepening faith is something for all of us to be involved in and we need to be intentional in reaching and including people of all ages and stages. How can we recognise the importance and value of developing relationships with families and households?

In this webinar we will explore the theological mandate for family ministry; steps towards increasing and deepening our relationships with families and building connections between the church and home.

This will be relevant for all those concerned about exploring new ways to develop ministry with families – leaders, elders, paid workers, unpaid workers.

Speaker: Gail Adcock

Gail is the Family and Intergenerational Officer with The Methodist Church in Great Britain. She has forged a career in ministry with families, spending ten years as the family pastor at Stopsley Baptist Church, following time as a primary school teacher.

Gail led the recent ‘We Are Family‘ research project and has an MA in Children and Family Ministry. She is passionate about seeing churches reach out to families of all shapes and sizes. Her book, The Essential Guide to Family Ministry has sold 1000+ copies .

This webinar will be recorded and available online after the event.

To follow up this webinar, we are running a 4-session, free online training course – “Family Ministry Unpacked” to equip people from local congregations, to take practical steps in developing family ministry.

The course will run on 4 Wednesdays from 17 November to 8 December, 7-9pm.
