Karen’s background is in adult education and careers guidance. In 2003 she trained as a Counsellor gaining a Postgraduate Diploma from Strathclyde University and has worked in both the private and voluntary sectors. Karen has experience of employee counselling and working with survivors of childhood abuse. She currently works as a Counsellor with the Church of Scotland and has a small private practice. Karen’s main role as a Counsellor working with cancer patients, carers, relative and the bereaved.
Karen has been practicing as a Supervisor since 2011 and holds a Certificate in Clinical Supervision from the Gestalt Institute in Edinburgh. Karen has also under took Pastoral Supervision training through the Christian Ministries Counselling Service in York in 2015. She currently supervises counsellors and those working in ministry.
Karen places value on the individual using supervision as a space to explore issues, grow, be creative, change and reflect on their practice.
