About the Event

Join us for Preaching Today 2019, a two-day conference to reflect on preaching as it relates to your ministry and parish.

The conference is for anyone who wants to explore ways to preach better and to be inspired to give their preaching ministry a new focus.

The event will commence with Morning Worship at St Giles Cathedral, before moving to The Hub and New College where we are delighted to be joined by

  • Prof Sally A. Brown (Princeton Seminary’s Elizabeth M. Engle Associate Professor of Preaching and Worship, and ordained Presbyterian minister)
  • Rev Dr Sam Wells (Vicar of St Martin’s-in-the-Fields, Visiting Professor of Christian Ethics at Kings College, and regular Broadcaster)
  • Rev Dr John L. Bell (Preacher, Hymn Writer, Lecturer, & Broadcaster)
  • Dr Paula Gooder (Director Mission Learning & Development, and Six Preacher, Canterbury Cathedral)

We also have a range of seminars including:

  • Voice coaching
  • Living liturgy
  • Authenticity: the self in the sermon
  • Preaching in conflict

Furthermore the first day will close with a Wine Reception at New College.  An ideal opportunity for you to catch up with old colleagues, meet new ones, and discuss your experiences so far.

Study Leave allowance and FFY discount can be applied.
