About the Event

Trinity College, University of Glasgow presents the Kerr Lectures 2018 – ‘Mission, Church and Theology in a Globalised World’

Stephen Bevans, Professor Emeritus of Mission and Culture, Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, will present the following lectures and workshops;

  • Monday 29th January, 7pm – 9pm (lecture) – ‘Towards a missionary Ecclesiology for the Twenty-First Century’.      
  • Wednesday 31st January,  9am – 5pm (workshop) – ‘Catholicity: A Missional Mark of The Church’.
  • Thursday 1st February, 11am – 1pm (lecture and seminar) – ‘Models of Contextual Theologizing in world Christianity’ (in conjunction with the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa via live link).
  • Friday 2nd February, 1pm -2pm (lecture) – ‘Becoming A global Theologian: A Personal Journey’.

Please note that the venues for this series do vary, with the initial lecture located at Turnbull Hall, Catholic Chaplaincy CENTRE, 15 Southpark Terrace, Glasgow, G12 8LG and the remaining events at the Theology & Religious Studies department, 4 Professors’ Square, University of Glasgow, G12 8QQ
