The University of Aberdeen has created an exciting flexible MTh in Ministry Studies. The programme is designed to enable students to reflect deeply on the theology and practice of ministry. It runs part-time over two years and brings together a unique approach which blends theological reflection with practical action in ways designed to enhance and transform ministry in all its different forms. The programme is for anyone engaged in full time or part time, ordained or lay Christian ministry.
The programme is taught via a combination of one week intensive teaching modules, guided reading courses and online seminars. It is also available at a number of levels, including MTh, Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate.
A major strength of the Divinity department at Aberdeen University is that it has a heart for the church. Many of the theologians here have been, or remain, pastors and ministers. It enjoys, therefore, the privilege of being able to offer theological education with scholars who are practicing ministers. This makes the MTh in Ministry Studies at Aberdeen University a tremendous opportunity for people engaged in a broad range of ministries, in a variety of different contexts, to develop new understanding and revised practices which are faithful and transformative.
